Chalkify - A Photoshop Action

So I really like the look of photoshopped chalk type, like below:

However, when creating slides for a career day presentation recently, I grew really tired of following all the steps over and over again so I made an action out of it.  You can get that action here:  Chalkify.  If you would like a chalkboard background, here's one I found:

Feel free to download it too :)

Pennant Letters

So today I was looking for ready made pennants to put on birthday banners.  I found lots of blank templates but none with letters already on them.  So I made them, one for each letter of the alphabet.  Download the file here: Pennant Letters and Template .  You have to create an account to download them all but it's free and totally trustworthy (4shared.com if you want to check it out first).  You can make a banner just like the one above.  Give your banner some pizzaz by printing the pennants on colorful or scrapbook paper then string them up.  Enjoy!

No-Skid Socks

My kiddos have suffered more than one knot on their head and busted lip at the hand of our hard, slippery laminate floors, especially in the winter.  Our poorly insulated home makes for a cold home so socks are always on when the temperature dips.  As the kids run around the house, full speed ahead, injuries abound because they slide so easily in their socks.  So here's what I did:

Easy-peasy, wish I had though of it sooner.  I grabbed their socks, used puff paint left over from stocking decorating and made treads on the bottom of their socks.  Guess what?  It worked like a charm.  No more three year old wipe outs around the corner, nor one year old losing her footing thanks to slippery socks.  Success!
